Libby — Head of Product & Operations
How long have you worked at Almighty?
Three years. Feels like one though, been such a breeze!
What’s your role?
I’m Product and Operations and sometimes Head of IT. #MakeitandMoveIt
Favourite Almighty bev and flavour?
At the moment my favourite sparkling water switches between Pear and Lemon. Carrot Orange Turmeric will always be #1 for the juice though.
What do you do in your free time? How do you balance career, personal life and passions? Is there such a thing as balance?
I am a big fan of an early morning walk to clear the head and to help start the work day without feeling too rushed. I don’t think there is such a thing as the perfect balance but you can definitely find a rhythm that works for you where you can feel more in control of your day. The Almighty team would say my biggest passion is my cat, Crumpet!
How is the work environment within Almighty? Is there any gender bias?
The work environment at Almighty is so great, we are all good friends outside of work so there are no egos or gender bias hanging around. I feel like everyone is respected for the different qualities they bring to the team and it is very much a collaborative atmosphere in the office which is nice. We are all pretty good at switching off and having a beer as mates once the work is done.
Is there a female role model who inspired you?
I’m the youngest of three girls so I’m always inspired by my two big sisters. They are the first people I call for advice and both have achieved some pretty impressive milestones in life and business, which was always inspiring when growing up.
What is your goal in the business world?
Become top dawg ... just joking. To always work for a company with a cause behind it, not just a big machine.
Hannah — Brand & Marketing
How long have you worked at Almighty?I’m Brand & Marketing for Almighty. I love connecting with people and hydrating them.
Favourite Almighty bev and flavour?
I see this question being similar to, do you have a favourite child?…I can’t pick just one flavour. They are all perfect in my eyes.
What do you do in your free time? How do you balance career, personal life and passions? Is there such a thing as balance?
I have a small hobby brand with one of my friends who also happens to be named Hannah. We make and sell beaded accessories. It’s more for fun and friends, but totally check it out @justhusky_. I also love being outdoors and I try get to the ocean when I can. I’m learning to surf but taking it slow and steady on my foamy. Moving my body and mind helps to balance my lifestyle and career, but also friends are hella important.
How is the work environment within Almighty? Is there any gender bias?
I think Almighty has a super respectful work environment. We are all friends and equals. We know when to listen, laugh and get shit done. Never a dumb question and you always feel valued. As a small team we all support each other, which makes it easy to come to work everyday.
Is there a female role model who inspired you?
I don’t just have one! My friends are my support and I look up to all of them. As well as my mum and little sister who also help build me up.
What is your goal in the business world?
To share Almighty internationally.
Tricia — Wholesale, E-commerce, & Operations Support
How long have you worked at Almighty?
Two and a half years! Honestly, it’s flown by.
What’s your role?
I am a bit of a chameleon at Almighty, my job changes throughout each day. I process all wholesale orders, assist with Operations, and dabble in e-commerce and customer service. If you email in a question, it’s pretty much always going to be me you’re talking to!
Favourite Almighty bev and flavour?
It’s a tough to just pick one, but I do love the classic Lemon and of course Blood Orange.
What do you do in your free time? How do you balance career, personal life and passions? Is there such a thing as balance?
I think it’s important to find a good balance between work and your personal life. If you’re not happy with your life, you’re not happy in what you do, which can affect everything. That's why I try to work on my mental and physical health during my free time.
Friends are crucial, so I’m always meeting the crew on Saturday mornings for a coffee at Florets in Auckland. I try getting out and going for a hike or run as often as I can throughout the week, usually also with a friend. And for my “me time”, I’m a big reader. Love a quiet moment with a book.
How is the work environment within Almighty? Is there any gender bias?
I can genuinely say I have enjoyed my whole time working at Almighty. We work well together, everyone’s opinion matters, and no voice is ignored. We are a small team so everyone has a say. Don’t get me wrong, there is the devil’s advocate in group discussions, we don’t all just immediately agree with one another. But it is always constructive and we get each other thinking outside the box.
Is there a female role model who inspired you?
My sister has always had a huge influence on me. She’s one of the most well-rounded people I know and I catch myself thinking what she would do when something tricky comes up.
Besides her, there’s an author, Florence Given, who’s inspired me for a few years now. For all my people who are looking to embrace who they are and not apologise for it, I definitely recommend checking her out.
What is your goal in the business world?
To continue working for a business that has a positive impact on the planet and encourages us to engage with our community.
